General Situation

The rather strong northeast monsoon prevails over the lower Gulf of Thailand and the South with isolated heavy to very heavy rains in the lower South(east coast). The rather strong wind forces the waves in the lower Gulf up to 2-3 meters high, in thundershowers above 3 meters high. People in the lower South should beware of heavy to very heahvy rains that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially in the foothills near the waterways and the lowland areas. People along the Gulf shore should beware of inshore surges. All ships in the Gulf and the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution, keep off thundershowers and small boats in the lower Gulf should keep ashore. The weak high-pressure system covers upper Thailand with an increase in temperature but remains cool to cold weather in the upper country with morning fog. People should keep healthy due to the variable weather, all transport take more caution in poor visibility and beware of fire due to strong winds and dry air. In addition, Another high-pressure system extents to the South China. It will reach northeastern Thailand at 24 January 2023, affecting a decrease in temperatures by 2-4 C and strong winds first in the Northeast then the rest upper country.

Southern (East Coast)
Upper Part: Morning cool.Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.Minimum temperature 19-24 C. Maximum temperature 30-33 C. Surat Thani upwards : Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr.Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.Nakhon Si Thammarat downwards : Northeasterly winds 20-40 km/hr.Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers.
Southern (West Coast)
Isolated thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Satun.Minimum temperature 22-25 C. Maximum temperature 31-35 C. Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr.Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters in thundershowers.
Bangkok Metropolitan
Morning cool with fog. A slight increase in temperature.Minimum temperature 20-23 C. Maximum temperature 33-35 C. Northeasterly winds 10-15 km/hr.
