7-day Forecast For period of Feb 25, 2008 - Mar 2, 2008 Weather Forecast During 25-26 February, the ridge of high pressure system remains over upper Thailand and the South China Sea, together with easterly waves. Thundershowers are expected over the areas with wave height 1-2 meters in the Gulf and about 1 meter in the Andaman Sea. During 27 February — 2 March, another ridge of rather intense high pressure from China will extend to cover the country and the South China Sea. Thundershowers is likely in the first half period and slight drop in temperature then. Wind-wave will intensify in the Gulf with above 2 meters. Warning People are advised to take caution in areas of fog and rain while during 27 February — 2 March all ships proceed with caution. Northern Part Morning fog with thick patches in some places. Cold in the upper part with minimum temperature 13-16 C and cool elsewhere with minimum temperature 17-22 C. Cold to very cold in mountain tops. Minimum temperature 5-10C. Light winds 6-12 km/hr. During 26-29 February, widely scattered with in the first period and 1-3 C drops. Easterly winds 10-30 km/hr. Northeastern Part During 25-26 Feb, morning fog with 1-3 C rises. Remained cool with minimum temperature 16-23 C and isolated rain mainly in the lower part. Cold in mountain tops with minimum temperature 9-13 C. Northeasterly winds 10-30 km/hr. After 26 February, 2-4 C drops with windy and isolated to widely scattered in the first period. Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Central Part Isolated to widely scattered thundershowers through out the week. During 25-27 February, cool with minimum temperature 21-24 C and morning fog. Southeasterly winds 10-30 km/hr. Then 2-4 C drops in the second period. Northeasterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Eastern Part During 25-27 February, isolated to widely scattered thundershowers along mountainous and coastal areas. Southeasterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter. Then during 28 February — 2 March, 2-4 C drops with cool in the upper part and isolated thundershowers mainly along coastal areas. Northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Wave height about 1 meter and 1-2 meters offshore. Southern Part (East Coast) During 25-29 February, widely scattered to scattered thundershowers. During 1-2 March, decrease in rain in the upper Gulf from Chumphorn upwards with Southeasterly winds 1-30 km/hr. Wave height 1-2 meters. From Surat Thani southwards, easterly winds 15-35 km/hr with wave 1-2 meters. During 27 February — 2 March, northeasterly winds 20-40 km/hr. Wave height above 2 meters. Southern Part (West Coast) During 25-29 Feb, widely to scattered thundershowers while decrease in rain during 1-2 March. During 25-26 February, easterly winds 15-30 km/hr with wave about 1 meter then northeasterly winds 15-35 km/hr with wave 1-2 meters.
