7-day Forecast For period of May 5, 2008 - May 11, 2008 Weather Forecast The intense southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the upper Gulf is intensifying. Abundant rain and heavy to very heavy rainfall in many places are expected over Thailand especially in the west portion of country and the eastern mostly during 5, 8-11 May. High wave will occur in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf with wave height above 3 meters. During 6-7 May, southwest monsoon which over the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand will be weakening, cause decreasing rain and weak wind-wave. Warning During this period, people in the risky areas such as Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ranong, Phangnga, Chanthaburi and Trat provinces should beware of flash flood and small ships in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore during 5-6 and 8-11 May . Northern Part Fairly widespread thundershowers with heavy rain some places during 5, 10-11 May and decreasing in rainfall during 6-9 May. Southwesterly winds 10-30 km/hr. Northeastern Part Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain. During 10-11 May, scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains. Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/hr. Central Part Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain with windy mostly in the western portion. During 9-11 May, scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain. Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr. Eastern Part Scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain mostly along the mountain and coastal areas especially during 8-11 May. Southwesterly winds 20-35 km./hr. Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in the thunderstorm areas. Southern Part (East Coast) Scattered to fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain especially during 8-11 May. Southwesterly winds 15-35 km./Hr. Wave height 1-2 meters and about 2 meters offshore and above 2 meters in the thunderstorm areas. Southern Part (West Coast) Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rain throughout most of the period. Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr. wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in the thunderstorm areas. Metropolitan Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain.
