General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time High pressure areas from China covered northeastern Thailand. The rainfall in the Northeast is less than the others parts.

The tropical storm “Chan-hom”, almost stationary, has its centered in the middle South China Sea. Under its influence, the westerly wind over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will strengthen. Increasing rainfall are expected in the South and the sea wave will strengthen with wave height above 2 meters especially in the thundershowers areas. People in the South should beware of heavy rain while all ship should proceed with caution during 4-6 May, 2009.

Northern Part Fairly widespread thundershowers in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Tak, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lampang, Lampun, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.

Maximum temperature 33-35C. Southeasterly winds 10-25 km/hr.

Northeastern Part Isolated thundershowers in Loei, Chaiyaphum and Nakhon Ratchasima.

Maximum temperature 32-34 C.

Northeasterly winds 15-30 km/hr.

Central Part Widely scattered thundershowers in Kanchanaburi, Uthai Thani, Ratchaburi and Samutsongkham. Maximum temperature 32-35 C.

Easterly winds 15-30 km/hr.

Eastern Part Widely scattered thundershowers mostly in Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Maximum temperature 32-36 C.

Northeasterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower areas.

Southern Part (East Coast) Fairly widespread thundershowers. Isolated heavy rain mostly in Surat Thani,

Nakhon Si Thammarat, Patthalung, Songkhla, Patthani and Narathiwat.

Maximum temperature 32-33 C. Westerly winds 20-35 km./hr.

Wave height 1-2 meters and offshore above 2 meters in thundershower areas.

Southern Part (West Coast) Fairly widespread thundershowers. Isolated heavy rain mostly in Phangnga, Phuket, Trang

and Satun. Maximum temperature 30-33 C.

Northwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr.

Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershower areas.

Metropolitan Widely scattered thundershowers mostly in the Vicinity.

Maximum temperature 33-35 C.

Easterly winds 15-30 km/hr.
