General Situation at 04:00 AM local Time At 01.00 a.m. today, tropical storm “Chan-Hom” in the middle South China Sea has upgraded to typhoon. At 04.00 a.m. this storm has its centered about 450 km west of Manila, Philippines or at latitude 15.2 ?N, longitude 116.8 ?E with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/hr, it is moving east-northeastward with a speed of 18 km./hr. This causes prevailing moderate westerly winds lies across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. The rainfall in the South is more than the other parts. Wind-wave is likely with 1-2 meters high in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf.
