Thai Rating And Information Services (TRIS) has appointed a new
board of directors as the terms of previous board member have expired.
Dr. Panas Simasathien will continue to serve as chairman of the board for
a third term and Dr. Vuthiphong Priebjrivat will continue to serve as
president for a second term. The vote of the shareholders was unanimous.
TRIS held its annual shareholders meeting on 24 March 1997 at the
Pan Pacific Hotel. The main agenda items were electing a new board and
re-electing the president. Four board members will be return to TRIS's
board. They are: Mr. Ratt Srikraivin, chairman of Bangkok Finance; Prof.
Kesree Narongdej, managing director of AMT & Associates; Mr. Sudhibhan
Nimmanhaemin, deputy director general, Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of
Finance; and Mr. Nattapol Chavalitcheevin, president, IFCT Capital
Management Co., Ltd. Five new members of the board are : Prof. Kasem
Watanachai, president, Huachiew Chalerm Prakiet University; Mr. Viroj
Nualkhair, chairman, Association of Securities Companies; Mr. Suchin
Phongsak, director and senior executive vice president, Bangkok Life
Assurance Ltd.; Mr. Narong Pattamasaevi, director-education Committee
Association of Finance Companies and Mr. James Stent, executive vice
president, Bank of Asia PLC.
TRIS's board of directors are representatives and experts from
related fields responsible for looking after and establishing TRIS's
policies. The board is made up of three parties: five shareholder
representative directors, expert directors and TRIS's president. The
shareholder representative directors and expert directors served term of
two years while the president served a four-year term. End.
