The first Cafe Amazon to be operated by the hearing impaired personnel and managed by Sarn Palung Social Enterprise Company Ltd.This new branch of Cafe Amazon will bring a meaningful life to the special persons and society.
Today (July 17th, 2018), Mr. Tevin Vongvanich, President & Chief Executive Officer, PTT Public Company Limited along with Miss Jiraphon Kawswat, Duputy of President & Chief Executive Officer, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited, Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., Acting President of Mahidol University, and Warangkana Ratchatawan, Ph.D., Acting Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Corporate Communications of Ratchasuda College, Mahidol University attend the opening ceremony of Cafe Amazon that is all operated by the hearing impaired. The new branch provides an opportunity for the hearing impaired who graduated from Ratchasuda College, Mahidol University to develop skills while earning an income as trying to make a career in food & beverage business.
Mr.Tevin said that PTT Group has founded Sarn Palung Social Enterprise Company Ltd. to bring strength of business to raise social and environment well being. Cafe Amazon is a successful brand that initiated Cafe Amazon for Chance to increase opportunity and income for the hearing impaired by helping them develop every essential skill in making a career. Hearing Impaired is the second group of all handicapped but is the hardest one to get a job and there is no training course for skill development. Even though they have a career, they earn wages lower than theireducation ability.
Miss Jiraphon stated that Cafe Amazon has successfully opened more than 2,300 branches nationwide. Cafe Amazon for Chance is a model project that put an emphasis on the disable person by creating courses to develop skills such as barista of Cafe Amazon's standard. Cafe Amazon for Chance changes processing work, ordering method and using new technology; Hybrid Machine and Duo Screen for more convenience and faster service.
"Before we use the new technology, the hearing impaired baristas slowly prepared drinks and mistook orders. After the digital grinder was introduced in the Cafe Amazon for Chance, the processing time and order delivering is up to the standard of the normal branches." Miss Jiraphon added
Cafe Amazon for Chace, which employs the hearing impaired, has two branches. The first is at the Office of The President, and the secondbranch is at Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies of Mahidol University. This very special project will be launched at Baan Chao Praya branch, Laem Cha Bang Hospital and Ministry of Social Development and Human Security later by the end of this year. Net profit from Cafe Amazon for Chance will be used as a fund to develop a career for other disables. Mr. Tevin said at the end.
