HSBC Collaborates with EDF Foundation to Enhance Thai Needy Students’ Future Skills

Bangkok--13 Nov--On 3 Communication HSBC, in collaboration with the EDF Foundation, announced the launch of "Bank on a Bright Career with HSBC" project as part of the HSBC Youth Opportunities Programme (HYOP). A one-year activity commencing in December 2018 will benefit some 3,000 students and teachers in 30 schools and local communities in five provinces, including Chiangrai, Nakhon Panon, Sakon Nakhon, Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani. According to Mr. Kelvin Tan, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Thailand, "The project will provide training to 150 teachers and 3,000 students in various skill areas. The skill development programme will cover agriculture, poultry farming, cooking, baking, performing arts, handicrafts, product marketing & branding and others." Mr. Tan added, "HSBC, as the world's leading financial institution and the first commercial bank in Thailand, is committed to supporting the development of Thailand's education, society and environment to create sustainable economy for the country. We are delighted to partner with the Education for Development Foundation (EDF Foundation) on the 'Bank on a Bright Career with HSBC' project to enhance future skill development and employability of the future generation."
