As part of its continual support to investment in Lao PDR, KASIKORNTHAI BANK LIMITED (Lao PDR) has offered financial facility to the Bangkok Chain Hospital Public Company Limited (BCH) for the construction of Kasemrad International Hospital Vientiane with 254 beds. For enhanced medical service quality to Lao and international patients in this country, the new hospital will be operational in 2021.
Mr. Pattanapong Tansomboon, Chairman of KASIKORNTHAI BANK LIMITED (Lao PDR), said that KBank aims to be a driving force for ASEAN economic growth, especially in Lao PDR which has seen fast economic growth and thriving industrial sectors, as evidenced by rising purchasing power of Lao people who are seeking quality goods and services. Importantly, healthcare business is one of the industries under the Lao government's support as it aims to promote greater access to quality medical services on par with international standard in line with the country's economic expansion.
KBank Lao PDR realizes that healthcare business, i.e., hospital, is an essential factor that Lao PDR needs to improve the people's quality of life. Therefore, KBank Lao PDR provides financial support to Bangkok Chain International (Lao) Co., Ltd., under the BCH group which is a long-time business partner of KBank, for the construction of Kasemrad International Vientiane Hospital to provide medical services with international standard to Lao people.
Mr. Pattanapong added that KBank is very pleased to support BCH which operates leading private hospitals under four hospital groups, namely, 1. World Medical Hospital, 2. Kasemrad International Hospital, 3. Kasemrad Hospital, and 4. Karunvej Hospital. BCH has expanded the medical service network to the ASEAN region in accordance with its target. KBank is confident in the potential, experience and professionalism of the management and staff of BCH, and KBank hopes that this BCH's overseas business expansion will succeed. This business collaboration is also in line with KBank's strategy of participating in the economic development of countries in ASEAN.

Prof. Dr. Chalerm Harnphanich, M.D.,Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Bangkok Chain Hospital PCL., and Managing Director of Bangkok Chain International (Lao) Co., Ltd., said that the construction of Kasemrad International Hospital Vientiane requires a total investment of approximately USD50 million. The amount of such an investment is in line with economic growth, plus social and community development in Lao PDR. The company is committed to offering advanced medical services under the Kasemrad International Hospital brand to ensure that general patients, both local consumers and foreign nationals working and traveling in Lao PDR, receive quality medical services on a par with international standards.
Bangkok Chain International (Lao) Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between Thailand's Bangkok Chain Hospital PCL. and a company in Lao PDR under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, Lao PDR. The company engages in the medical service business under the name of Kasemrad International Hospital Vientiane, with 254 beds and 38 examination rooms. It is scheduled for opening in 2021.
Meanwhile, KBank (Lao PDR) has been registered as a locally incorporated institution, offering full-scale financial services with two branches, namely Lane Xang Head Office and Ban Ponesinuan Branch. KBank (Lao PDR) plans to expand branches in the future. Currently, KBank's service networks overseas (plus those in AEC+3) include seven branches in Shenzhen, Longgang (Sub-Branch), Chengdu, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Phnom Penh and Cayman Islands, as well as six Representative Offices in Beijing, Kunming, Yangon, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Tokyo.
