MFC Asset Management launches its new rising dividend fund, MFC Dividend Asia Fund (MDIVA) IPO: October 18-28, 2019

Stocks News Tuesday October 22, 2019 15:57 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--22 Oct--MFC Asset Management MFC Dividend Asia Fund (MDIVA) seeks increasing dividend income over time, long-term growth and a reasonable level of current income from investment in dividend-paying stocks in both Thailand and throughout Asia. The fund will pay dividend no more than 4 times per year. Dennis Lim, CEO of MFC Asset Management, said that the trade war between the US and China leaves the global economy vulnerable and causes central banks around the world to pursue loose monetary policies to maintain the economy's momentum. According to the World Bank, global growth will slow to 2.6% in 2019 before inching up 2.7% in 2020. The search for yield appears unstoppable and the dividend-yielding securities that exhibit sustainable cash flow will likely play the role within this sentiment. Given the current market environment, it is timely for MFC to introduce its new fund, MDIVA, to investors who seek long-term dividend investment in Asian stocks. Holding a diversified portfolio of different sectors in Asia, MDIVA invests in quality growth stocks with consistent dividend payment that has the potential to continue growing in the next 3-5 years. MDIVA offers investors an active investment strategy that was expected to provide positive returns. It is an equity fund with a policy to invest in shares of companies in both Thailand and other Asian countries that have the potential to pay dividends and continuously increase their dividend payouts over the years. The fund will invest at least 80% of NAV in stocks of companies in both Thailand and Asia that consistently pay dividends and/or have the potential for continued dividend growth in the future. No more than 79% of the fund will be invested in global securities. Investment in both Thai and foreign Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) and derivatives for foreign currency hedging will be at discretion of fund manager. Designed to meet the investment needs of investors who wish to invest in stocks of companies in both Thailand and Asia with the opportunity to receive consistent dividend yields, MDIVA is suitable for middle- to long-term investors who expect good returns and diversified investment risk of the portfolio.
