กรุงเทพฯ--15 พ.ย.--FAQ In a collaboration with TrueMoney Thailand, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT), announced the launch of Easy Pass registration service through TrueMoney Wallet application with free delivery of the Easy Pass tag (OBU) directly to users' home. This new service will facilitate and encourage expressway users to switch from cash payment to Electronic Toll Collection System (ETCS), which would help solving traffic congestion at the tollgate while expanding Easy Pass user base to new generations who are currently majority among 8.4 million active users of TrueMoney Wallet application. Mr. Damkerng Parnkham. Deputy Governor for Operation, Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) said "In accordance to EXAT's policy to solve traffic congestion problem around the tollgate apart from opening barrier gate during rush hours, we now introduce new channel for user to register for Easy Pass through TrueMoney Wallet application, which is easier and more convenient than before as users will get Easy Pass tag (OBU) delivered to their place and can top-up money to Easy Pass via the application. Previously, road commuters who would like to register for Easy Pass need to buy the card at the Expressway Control Centres which is time and cost-consuming." EXAT has launched the Easy Pass system as an automatic tollgate option for over 9 years and we have received very good responses from users. Currently, there are over 1.79 million Easy Pass users, representing approximately 42% of all expressway users. Our fruitful collaboration is a crucial step in elevating the land transportation throughout Thailand and it is one of the various projects EXAT encourages users to shift their cash ETCS payment to Easy Pass. Through this collaboration, it could be the first step to navigate us to implement new technologies in the future as planned. These are for example, integration of AI technology and programmes development for data connection with the Department of Land Transport and the Royal Thai Police as well as analysing and applying Big Data for EXAT's policy planning and traffic management, which would support criminal prevention, accident reduction, and allowing fast vehicle check-in/check-out with automatic toll calculation and collection," added Mr. Damkerng. Ms. Monsinee Nakapanant, Co-President, Ascend Money Co., Ltd. said "This collaboration aligns with our effort to drive and stimulate e-Payment service. It is also a great milestone of collaboration and technology integration between the government and the private sector to achieve the cashless society and better commuter's travel experience, while solving traffic problems. Since August 2016, we have collaborated with EXAT to offer Easy Pass users to top-up money via TrueMoney Wallet and seen continuous growth all in terms of number of users, transaction and top-up value. The number of Easy Pass top-up transactions has grown 80% and the top-up value has grown 92% during January to October of this year compared to the same period of last year. Average top-up frequency is 1.7 times a month and about 500 Baht and 1,000 Baht each. We have also seen potentials among young generation whose decision making prioritizes convenience, fast service and value. We believe the integration of service platform and the joint campaign between EXAT and TrueMoney will increase the ease of access and usage of Easy Pass. It is also a good example of how the technology can enhance the transportation service. This also reinforce TrueMoney Wallet's position as everyday payment companion for users in all daily lifestyles, at all places, even on the road while travelling." Mr. Nirun Fuwattananukul, Head of Commercial, TrueMoney Co., Ltd. (Thailand) said "This new service will ease and reduce hassels to access and register for Easy Pass. Previously, applicants have to beat traffic and spend time to the Expressway Control Centre to register. Now, users can register for Easy Pass easily in a few clicks by just downloading TrueMoney Wallet application and paying for the first time entry fee at only 500 THB, then Easy Pass tag (OBU) and device will be delivered to their doorstep within 2-5 working days. We are also offering free delivery service from today until 13 February 2020. And for those who have already had Easy Pass, various debit/credit cards can now be tied with TrueMoney app to top-up to Easy Pass without any charge, making users no longer need to worry about running out of money and allowing them to enjoy today's cashless lifestyle while travelling."
