RISC by MQDC introduces the “Fahsai” urban air purifier tower, the first installation in a Thai property project of new technology to achieve “For All Well-Being” Bangkok--20 Jan--MQDC - Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC) by Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC) has launched the "Fahsai" urban air purification tower in its first installation in Thailand. - Fahsai's hybrid technology will clean 120,000 cubic meters of air/hour at 101 True Digital Park. - Fahsai embodies MQDC and RISC's principle of "For All Well-Being" to promote the health and well-being of all living beings on earth Mr. Visit Malaisirirat, CEO of Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), said: "MQDC has placed importance on research and development in various fields to improve the quality of life through RISC. The knowledge gained by MQDC is not used only within the organization. MQDC has the ultimate goal of disseminating knowledge and creating a broad public interest. Under MQDC's strategy of 'For All Well-Being' we aim to create sustainable well-being for all living beings on earth. With the launch of the 'Fahsai' urban hybrid air purification tower, MQDC is the first property developer in Thailand to address air quality. 'Fahsai' will benefit all citizens, not only MQDC residents but also the people of the city. It is an implementation of 'For All Well-Being' to promote the health and well-being of all beings on earth and create happiness in a concrete way." Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto, Chief Advisor to MQDC's Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC) and Head of the Creative Center for Eco-Design at Kasetsart University, said that RISC by MQDC conducted research under the principle of 'sustainnovation' to achieve environmental health and sustainability while helping to improve quality of life, including for social and economic development. RISC therefore emphasizes the concept of 'For All Well-Being' to promote the health and well-being of the world and the public at large. RISC has launched a prototype urban air purification tower under the name 'Fahsai'. The tower removes pollution and PM 2.5 dust with hybrid auto air purification technology. Developing together with NESTECH, 'Fahsai' can purify up to 120,000 cubic meters of air/hour. The tower will be installed throughout 2020 in the Family Park in front of Whizdom Essence Sukhumvit at 101 True Digital Park, an innovation hub and Southeast Asia's largest startup ecosystem. The tower will purify air and also collect data on the weather and the machine's operation to help develop next-generation urban air purifiers with enhanced efficiency. The automatic hybrid air purifier tower gathers PM2.5 particles with a hybrid energy system that combines a 3,850 Watt solar panel and a battery. This combination helps reduce dependence on an external electrical supply. High-speed fans suck air into the system, which separates large and small dust particles with air velocity and water spraying in a continuous 3-layer Jet Venturi Scrubber system. The systems use 70 liters of water to purify up to 120,000 cubic meters of air/hour. The intelligent system controls the motor of the fans in accordance with the concentration of dust until PM2.5 levels return to normal. RISC plans to develop an air purifier at the city level, constantly reducing pollution in the city with a budget of over THB10 million. "The PM 2.5 toxic dust problem that people in Bangkok and neighboring provinces are currently facing daily will worsen," said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto. "RISC is a research hub that helps improve quality of life, focusing on solving air quality problems and finding solutions, especially for exterior issues such as PM 2.5 dust, which directly affects people's health. We are therefore developing ways to improve air quality with a prototype urban air purification tower under the name 'Fahsai'. The hybrid air purifier tower uses technology developed by RISC and NESTECH. We believe that it is a highly efficient technology to purify the air, turning a dark sky with a poisonous mist to a sky as bright as 'Fahsai' [Clear Sky]." Mr. Kraipichit Muangwong, chief executive of NESTECH Thailand Company Limited and President of Energy Research Integrate Group (ERIG), said: "NESTECH Thailand is delighted to develop with RISC and MQDC a prototype of Fahsai, an urban air purifier tower. NESTECH hopes that 'Fahsai' will be a prototype of urban air-purifying towers to substantially help resolve air quality problems, especially PM2.5." RISC by MQDC celebrated last year's festive season by giving the people of Bangkok the New Year's gift of a 'Urban Air Purifier'. The device uses electrostatic technology. It gives dust a charge then captures it with a plate carrying the opposite charge. The air purifier is now cleaning air at its location between Siam Discovery and Siam Center. RISC plans this year to install more urban air purifiers in areas with low air quality and high PM2.5 dust levels to protect people's health. RISC also plans ongoing research into dust in areas with high traffic. The information will help develop the next generation of air purifiers with enhanced efficiency.
