KBank selected for the world-class Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) Reflecting respect for diversity and promotion of gender equality in the workplace Bangkok--24 Jan--KASIKORNBANK KBank has been included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) in 2020, for the second consecutive year. KBank is the first and only Thai company to be chosen this year, reflecting KBank's outstanding contribution with regards to diversity, promotion of equal opportunities for women in the workplace and transparent reporting on gender equality. Dr. Adit Laixuthai, KBank Corporate Secretary and Senior Executive Vice President, said that KBank strives to run its business based on the foundation of being a Bank of Sustainability by attaching importance to the value of workplace diversity in terms of gender, age, race, skill, knowledge, expertise and experience, which is applied corporate-wide. At present, seven women are in KBank's 18-member Board of Directors, or 39 percent of the total, demonstrating diversity in terms of age, qualifications, skill, knowledge, capability and experience. Regarding employees, KBank promotes equality for women in the workplace and gives them fair and equal opportunities to show their capacity, reflecting respect for diversity and promotion of gender equality in the workplace in line with Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a result, for a second consecutive year, KBank has been included in GEI – and is the only Thai organization to be selected – due to KBank's commitment in ensuring gender equality up to the international standard. KBank takes pride in reaching an international milestone, which is a testament to KBank's pledge to run its business based on the foundation of a Bank of Sustainability which provides the greatest benefit to all stakeholders. Bloomberg GEI tracks the performance of public companies committed to transparent disclosure of information related to gender equality covering the company's statistical data, policy development, community participation, and products and services. Participating companies must score at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect a high level of disclosure and overall performance across the framework's five pillars, namely, female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand. This year, 325 companies have been selected for inclusion in the index, from nearly 6,000 companies covering over 50 industries in 42 countries worldwide.
