Bangkok--1 Aug--Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok Hotel Guests at Suan Bua Thai restaurant, Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok have a rare opportunity throughout August to enjoy Sangyod Phatthalung rice, the rice that is grown in Phatthalung province and which was originally used only for festival times or for honoured visitors. This germinated brown rice is available throughout August with a special a la carte created by Chef Por. With its small and slender grains and its dark red pericarp, this distinctive rice grain is soft and aromatic when cooked, full of flavour, and rich in nutrition. Dishes include Sangyod brown rice fried with green young chilli, Northern pork sausage and boiled egg; fried with shrimp paste and deep-fried Thai mackerel; fried with crab fat sauce and crab meat; and boiled with pandan leaves and a choice of condiments.
