Minor Hotel Group (MHG), a hotel owner, operator and investor, currently with a portfolio of 133 hotels and resorts in 22 countries across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, South America, Africa and the Indian Ocean, is celebrating a haul of TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence awards. Now in its fifth year, the award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to approximately ten percent of establishments listed on TripAdvisor that consistently achieve great traveller reviews on the site and continually deliver a superior customer experience.
Minor Hotel Group scooped 70 Certificate of Excellence awards across its Anantara, PER AQUUM, AVANI, Oaks, Elewana and Tivoli brands, which included properties in Asia, the Indian Ocean, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and South America. When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period, as well as a business’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
In addition to the Certificate of Excellence awards, 30 Minor Hotel Group properties, again across multiple brands and regions, were invited into TripAdvisor’s “Hall of Fame”, a special designation launched this year to celebrate the awards fifth anniversary and awarded to businesses that have earned a Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years. These winners consist of only two percent of businesses on TripAdvisor. To qualify as a ‘Hall of fame’ winner, a business must have won the award in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
