Photo Release: Bangkok Bank hosts funeral chanting of Abhidhamma for His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch of Laosat Ong Teu Temple in Vientiane

กรุงเทพฯ--27 พ.ย.--Bangkok Bank Bangkok Bank Executive Vice Chairman Deja Tulananda (front row, middle), Directors Singh Tangtatswas (front row, 4th from left) and H.S.H. Prince Mongkolchaleam Yugala (front row, 4th from right), Executive Vice President Apichart Ramyarupa (front row, 3rd from left) and Vientiane Branch Manager Chadaphorn Uratchat (front row, 3rd from right), together with bank executives from Thailand and Vientiane branch staff, hosted the funeral chanting of Abhidhamma and the religious rites for the fourth Laos supreme patriarch, Phra Ajarn Dr. Mahapong Piyatiro (Samalerk), who was also the president of The Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organization (LBFO), at Ong Teu Temple in Laos's capital city. The supreme patriarch passed away at the age of 100 years and 6 months, after entering the monkhood 81 years ago. He was considered to be a holy monk of two lands, or two Mekong riverbanks, as he was born on 10 April, 1916 in Trakan Phuet Phon District of Ubon Ratchathani province, Thailand and ordained at Pho Sri Temple in the same province before moving to Laos in 1952. He was named as the 4th president of The Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organization in 2010, a position equivalent to Thailand's supreme patriarch.
