Bangkok--25 May--Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit Voila! restaurant at the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit hotel is celebrating France's national day on 14 July with a month-long promotion featuring some of the nation's most popular dishes. Known throughout the world as Bastille Day or la Fete nationale, 14 July is a day for parties and parades throughout France and by diaspora spread around the world. Voila! begins the celebrations on Friday 15 June by adding traditional French dishes to the international buffet dinner such as classic Bouillabaisse (fish soup); black mussels mariniere; Brittany seabass baked in a salt crust; braised beef cheeks in red wine sauce, and duck leg confit with Lyonnaise potatoes. The delicious French-themed desserts include creme brulee and tarte tatin. These dishes feature every Friday and Saturday evening until 14 July. Dinner is priced at THB 2,200 net. The popular Sunday Brunch at Voila! is also flying the tricolour with pride, adding fabulous French dishes such as aligot au cantal; succulent Provencale herb marinated leg of lamb, and cassoulet Toulousain – a traditional white bean stew made with pork sausages. These dishes are available every Sunday from 17 June to 15 July. Voila! Sunday Brunch is also well-known for its pass-around dishes, notably the baked half lobster, black mussels mariniere and slow-cooked duck magret.
