Bangkok--Jan 14--TAT The recent launch of Thailand's first leisure submarine tour on the "Deepstar", a technologically-advanced submersible, opens up a whole new realm for individuals who prefer not to swim or dive. Enjoy the beauty of Phuket's underwater world around the popular dive sites of Ko Dok Mai and Ko Mai Ton in the Andaman Sea, known for its colourful reef-fish and soft coral formations, in the comfort of an air-conditioned submarine. The Deepstar, a DS-48 submarine built in the United States, features the latest in tourist submarine technology available and has 24 large passenger viewports measuring 72 centimetres. LCD screens mounted between the viewports offer better viewing. It is also equipped with modern passenger entertainment systems. The submarine is maintained and operated according to the highest international safety standards for tourist submarines. Phuket Submarine operates 6 dives per day in the surrounding waters off Phuket Island. The dives will be to depths of 30 metres with each dive taking approximately 45-minutes long. Trips depart from Rassada Pier daily at 08.00, 10.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 16.00. The entire trip takes approximately two hours with 45 minutes being spent underwater.
