West Sumbawa-PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (PTNNT) employees have generiously
donated approximately Rp292 million to victims of the recent earthquakes and
tsunamis in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.
"PTNNT management is very proud of employees' efforts in raising the
humanitarian relief funds for the victims of the Aceh quakes and tsunamis,"
said Phil Brumit .
For this reason, added Brumit, PTNNT will match the funds raised by it's
employees for a total donation approaching of Rp600 million.
PTNNT with its strategic alliance partners Trakindo and Caterpillar have
also sent 8 units of heavy equipment (3 excavators, 2 dozers, 2 loaders dan 1
backhoe) in addition to 6 units of supporting equipment, including generator
sets and light vehicles.
"In addition, a crew of 25 will also be sent to operate the equipment.
Also, we have donated 2 satellite phones and approximately 20 cubic meters of
dry food goods and water," said Brumit.
Meanwhile, Darmawan Taher, the coordinator of the employees fund raising, said PTNNT employees were moved by the disaster and quickly collected funds for donation. "We hope that this donation will help relieve the suffering and difficulties experienced by fellow citizens in Aceh," commented Darmawan.
