Government’s Net Revenue Collection: The First 11 Months of Fiscal Year 2019 (October 2018 - August 2019)

Mr. Lavaron Sangsnit, Director-General of the Fiscal Policy Office and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance, stated that the government’s net revenue collection in the first 11 months of fiscal year 2019 (October 2018 – August 2019), was 2,332,840 million baht, which was 54,858 million baht or 2.4% higher than the same period of last year and 51,916 million baht or 2.3% higher than revenue target. This was mainly the result of revenue collection of other agencies, Revenue Department, remittances from State-owned enterprises, as well as revenue collection of Customs Department exceeding target by 44,043 36,016 14,655 and 8,016 million baht or 32.2% 2.1% 9.6% and 8.7% respectively.

When compared to MOF’s estimation (as of June 2019), which is used for the purpose of revenue monitoring by taking current economic situations and variables that affect government’s revenue collection into consideration, net revenue collection in the first 11 months of fiscal year 2019 was 22,480 million baht or 1.0% higher than estimated. Revenue collection of most departments were close to MOF’s estimation, except revenue collection of other agencies which exceeded MOF’s estimation by 6.6% due to premium from bond auction. MOF expects that revenue collection of fiscal year 2019 will achieve its target.
