Award recognizes innovation and creativity in digital printing for the signage industry
HP today announced the winners of the signage industry’s first digital print awards, organised by a major printer manufacturer — HP Digital Print Awards 2010 (Asia Pacific & Japan) — HP Scitex. The Awards were presented at the HP Digital Print Awards 2010 (Asia Pacific & Japan) — HP Scitex, gala dinner held this evening, in conjunction with the 18th Shanghai International Advertising & Sign Technology & Equipment Exhibition in Shanghai.
The inaugural Awards recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of Print Service Providers (PSPs) in the signage industry across Asia Pacific and Japan. This year’s Awards attracted over 100 entries for the five key categories from across the region.
“We are simply amazed with the high quality of the submissions received. It gives us great pleasure to showcase the most innovative and creative digital print works from the signage industry”, said Alex Lim, Creative Director, Publicis Singapore. ”The winning entries are true works of art that deliver not just on precision and quality but have managed to redefine the basic premise of digital printing in the signage industry through their clever use of substrates, color and creativity”.
“The submissions for the Green Digital Printing category reflect a new dimension to the concept of printing and how it can be interpreted in so many creative ways. Leaders in the signage space are seeing increased demand for a less environmentally impactful approach to printing,” said Edcent Chan, Field Marketing Manager, HP Indigo Press, Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. “HP is focused on providing its customers with solutions that can help them improve the sustainability of their printing, and has invested significantly to ensure its products are leading-edge.”
The Platinum Award winner from across all the categories is Caler Factory (Beijing) Pioneer Technology Corporation. The China based company was also recognized as “Best Transit Graphic” for its Creativity, Appearance, Marketing Appeal, Client Satisfaction and Best use of inks & colors. The capabilities of HP large-format printers are evident in the technology involved in designing the Platinum Award winning entry, the 2008 Olympics Sail Boat Printing. “The winning entry is outstanding and serves as an inspiration to others,” said Danny Searle, Chairman & Chief Creative Officer, BBDO Singapore, “Industry leaders need an alliance with the experience, knowledge and vision to help them not only survive today, but also to achieve similar feats of excellence.”
