Fitch Appoints Marjan van der Weijden to Lead EMEA SF

Bangkok--21 Oct--Fitch Ratings Fitch Ratings today announced that it has appointed Marjan van der Weijden to lead the agency's EMEA Structured Finance group. Ms. van der Weijden reports to Ian Linnell, Global Head of Structured Finance for Fitch. "Marjan fits the tradition of strong analytical leadership within the EMEA structured finance team at Fitch, and we are very pleased to have her in such a strategically important role. Marjan's extensive experience in senior structured finance roles across all asset classes in EMEA and Asia-Pacific at Fitch equip her perfectly to lead the strong credit calls that will be required from Fitch as the European structured finance market continues its revival and the sector weans itself off ECB support," said Ian Linnell. Fitch has also promoted Euan Gatfield to Head of CMBS for EMEA, reporting to Ms. van der Weijden. "Euan is a highly seasoned analyst with the energy, drive and insightful analytical approach that will be required to lead the European CMBS analytical team during a challenging period for the market," said Marjan van der Weijden. Mr. Gatfield replaces Philip Walsh who has been appointed to lead the agency's Structured Finance Business & Relationship Management team for EMEA. In his new role Philip Walsh replaces Karen Skinner, who now leads the agency's newly created global Research Strategy Group (see release headlined 'Fitch Appoints Karen Skinner to Lead New Global Research Strategy Group', dated 20 October 2010). "The revised senior management line-up in the EMEA structured finance team offers a strong blend of experience, drive and creative analytical insight that will ensure Fitch continues to set the benchmark for credit research and ratings within the European securitisation market," said Ian Linnell.
