To coincide with the recent art exhibition sponsored by O. P. Garden Shopping Complex entitled ‘The Royal Father in Our Hearts’, this upscale shopping complex in Soi Chareon Krung 36 is offering FREE art workshops to students at elementary level, secondary level and collegiate level. Three scholarships valued at Bht. 5,000.00 are being offered to the most outstanding artist in each level.
The special, FREE workshops will run from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 9th and Saturday, December 18th only. Students who register for one of these workshops will have a rare opportunity to learn fundamental techniques in painting from renowned, Thai art scholars and painters such as Associate Professor Suwat Saenkattiyarat, Ajarn Chatchawan Rodklongtan, Ajarn Krisana Chavanakorn, Ajarn Wasana Srisang, Ajarn Tanasade Silaaphiwon, and Khun Charnchai Siriwitayacharoen. During the workshops, each student will have a chance to apply the techniques they’ve learned to create their own masterpiece using the exhibition’s main theme: ‘The Royal Father in Our Hearts’.
Students who cannot attend a workshop, but wish to participate in the contest, can do so by submitting their artwork to O. P. Garden before December 18th. Using the exhibition’s theme, the participating students may use any technique to create their artwork. The size of each submitted piece must be 10 inches wide by 12 inches high.
After the two-day workshops, all the artwork created by participating students will be divided among the three different levels and judged for the best paintings. The results will be announced on Sunday, December 19th at 1:30 p.m. at O. P. Garden. The winning painting from each level will receive a scholarship from the shopping complex valued at Bht. 5,000.00. Winning students must be present to accept the rewards.
