Organized by the Villa Darakorn Arboretum in collaboration with The Chiangrai Violin club. Proceeds will go to children in need help in Chiangrai
The Chiangrai Youth Orchestra (CYO) which is made up entirely of 40 talented teenage string players will feature internationally renowned composer and solo artist, Richard Harvey, from London as guest conductor and soloist on a clarinet, klui (Thai bamboo flute), two popular Yunnan’s traditional musical instruments, Bawu and Hulusi
The Programme includes a variety of music from classical music featured on movies,
popular music and Christmas songs. Highlights include Adagio from Mozart’s Clarinet concerto (featured in the movie “Out of Africa”), Bach's Double concerto for two violins (1st mov.), selections from Richard Harvey’s scores of Thai movies: the Legend of Suriyothai and King Nareasuan, Chinese traditional songs, Thai tradition songs from the north and Christmas tunes .
Admission fee for concert (which includes snacks and drinks): Bht. 250 for adults and Bht. 170 for students. Audiences are invited to join in a pre-concert tour of the arboretum (free of charge) starting at 3.30pm.
