PM’s Creative Award Kicks off Call for Entries

Bangkok--15 Dec--124 Communications The Department of Intellectual Property has launched the campaign “PM’s Creative Award” in response to the Creative Thailand policy, aimed at stimulating the creative economy and enhancing the country’s position as a creative economy hub in the ASEAN region. The PM’s Creative Award is currently open for entry submission. The PM’s Creative Award will be given to organizations and entrepreneurs with outstanding goods and services that are an outcome of professional expertise, an accumulation of knowledge and education, together with creativity and the use of intellectual property. Moreover, social wisdom, culture coupled with novel technology and innovation will be applied so as to add value to the creative products and services and to accelerate the sustainable economic growth. The awards are divided into four categories: functional creation, media, art, and heritage. The functional creation award or Narisara Nuwatiwong award includes five divisions such as design, fashion, commercials, architecture and software. The media award or Krukrit Pramote award comprises publications, radio, film-video as well as music. The art award or Fua Haripitak award consists of visual and performing arts. The heritage award or Angkarn Kalayanapong award is separated into four divisions which are handicraft, cultural tourism, Thai traditional medicine, and food. Award winners will receive plagues and certificates of honor from the Prime Minister. The deadline for entry submission is on 7th January 2011.
