OTEP Joins Hands with I-Scheme Production in Expanding Learning MaterialsInto Online World through 5 Pilot Initiatives under NOE Plaza Program
Ambitious to give Thai students more educational opportunities through the online channel, the Office of the Welfare Promotion Commission for Teachers and Educational Personnel (OTEP) in collaboration with I-Scheme Production Company Limited unveiled five pilot initiatives under the Network Education (NOE) Plaza program.
Dr. Kreangsak Manmanotham, Director of Office of the Welfare Promotion Commission for Teachers and Educational Personnel (OTEP) and Project Managing Director of the Ministry of Education, said that the NOE Plaza program is an integration of educational innovations especially designed to enhance the learning efficacy and the educational system management in accordance with current and possible changes in the future. Under this e-learning program, educational institutions are tooled with online learning innovations that perfectly fulfill the flexible needs of teachers and students. In the next year of 2011, 24 e-learning projects will be introduced to targeted young students, with five to be piloted. The One-Baht Khun-na-dham project aims to narrow down the educational gap among students and to provide online classrooms and efficient teachers to deprived students in the five southern provinces though fund-raising activities. The Teacher in Your Heart reality show program highlights on the real meaning of teachers as those who perform unselfish acts for the pure sake of students. The Dek Lang Hong (Kids at the Back Side of Classroom) project is designed to promote children's creativity and give them courage to do good deeds for communities and nation. The News Reporting program presents substantial materials and current updates in the educational circle and, last but not least, Dharma Social Network live program presents dharma principles in a simplified version to educate youngsters.
Ms. Kulphassorn Jitreekan, Managing Director of I-Scheme Company Limited, said that as a key alliance of the NOE Plaza program, I-Scheme plays a major role in implementing these projects to reach targeted groups and to exploit its expertise in multimedia learning materials into the creation of NOE Plaza program. Serving as a platform to useful knowledge, the NOE Plaza e-learning program will tremendously benefit educational institutions in urban and rural areas as it helps promote knowledge exchange and the impartiality in educational opportunities through a close collaboration between diverse state and public agencies, namely, the National Telecom Commission (NTC), the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), TOT plc. and the Office of the Welfare Promotion Commission for Teachers and Educational Personnel of the Ministry of Education, Bureau of Educational Innovation Development of the Office of the Basic Education Commission and participating schools.
