His Excellency Mr James Wise, the Australian Ambassador to Thailand and the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), Australian Embassy, Bangkok, would like to invite you to a press conference to introduce the Sample English Classes Initiative 2011.
The Sample English Classes Initiative 2011 is a free trial for Thai students wanting to experience English classes taught by leading Australian education institutions. The classes will be held on Saturday 29 - Sunday 30 January 2011 at the Novotel Bangkok in Siam Square.
The Sample English Class Initiative is the first specific event English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) to be offered by Austrade Bangkok. The programme seeks to present Australian ELICOS study in a unique way by inviting prospective students to experience a free English class in the heart of Bangkok’s tutoring district.
Austrade is the Australian Government's trade and investment development agency. One of Austrade’s responsibilities is international promotion and marketing of Australian education.

The Sample English Class Initiative 2011 is the first specific event English-language Intensive courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) to be offered by the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) in Bangkok. It seeks to present Australian ELICOS study in a unique way by inviting prospective Thai students to experience a free trial English class on Saturday 29 — Sunday 30 January 2011 at the Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, the heart of Bangkok’s tutoring district. The program comprises three-hour sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, on different study topics. There will also be a special session on student visas by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) on Saturday. Further opportunities will be scheduled throughout 2011.
A free opportunity for Thais interested in Studying English Language Overseas to experience real teaching and learning methodology on four key topics through four classes delivered by experienced Australian English teachers from reputable Australian education institutions in Melbourne: Swinburne College and Box Hill Institute. Both institutions are accredited by the Australian Government.
Interested persons can register online and select the class of their interest at www.studyinaustralia.org/thailand. Applicants will be awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis. Successful applicants will be contacted by the Austrade office in Bangkok. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
