LG Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has announced the appointment of Mr. Jin Hak (Jeff) Cheh as Managing Director, effective from Tuesday 4 January 2011.
Mr. Cheh was previously Managing Director of LG Electronics Singapore and Malaysia, and in charge of LG’s sales, marketing and operational functions in Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He has 20-years experience in the electronics industry, having previously been the regional head of LG Electronics' mobile communications businesses across Eastern Europe, Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States markets. He was instrumental in the successful reorganization and turnaround of LG’s regional business, and was actively involved in localized product development and channel marketing processes.
Under Mr Cheh’s leadership, the company will continue to focus on developing innovative, reliable products that satisfy the demands of Thai consumers by utilizing thorough consumer insights. Furthermore, the company will enhance brand and go-to-market activities to create consumer engagement, and strengthen internal and external operational excellence such as supply-chain management and after-sales service to maximize benefits to customers, partners and ultimately Thai consumers.
“LG is currently gaining momentum and establishing itself as the consumer electronics leader in Thailand,” Mr. Cheh said. “This is demonstrated by our number one market share in many product categories such as washing machines, plasma TVs and home theater systems, and number two in LCD TVs, and the overall TV and air-conditioner markets. We continue to use local insights to develop products that enrich the lives of Thai consumers.

Mr. Cheh replaces Mr. Hyun Woo (Howard) Lee, who served as Managing Director from 2008 to December 2010. Mr. Lee will step up to a global role with LG Electronics, as Vice President, Overseas Sales and Marketing Division, Home Entertainment Company.
