For the overall market value, it is observed that travelers today travelling out of Thailand are more than 4 million people per year to major destinations such as Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, UK, Australia, Germany and the United States. It is expected that the market will grow 10% per annum from the number of the Office of Tourism Development. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports found that in 2009 the Thai tourists who travel to foreign countries were at about 4.5 million people with a market growth forecast at about 10% of which the gross sales are to be at 5%. Also, the figures of students travelling abroad to countries such as America to study are about 25,000 and for Australia 26,000 (data from 2009, Australian Government and the Embassy of the United States). This clearly indicates the huge potential that can be tapped to accelerate revenue within the economy and globally by optimizing the benefits of this alliance.
According to Mr. Nattapop, “For customers in Thailand, we expect the corporate sector to be approximately 80% of our customer base with 20% being customers who are tourists. While in India the corporate sector takes up about 50% and the remaining 50% going to tourists.
