EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that David Webster, currently the President of EMC Australia New Zealand (ANZ), has assumed the senior leadership role for EMC South East Asia (SEA) while continuing to lead the EMC business in ANZ.
In this new extended role, Webster will be responsible for driving the strategic growth and operational performance across both the ANZ and SEA regions.
Webster will oversee all EMC ANZ and SEA business functions, amongst which includes development of leadership talent, programs for enhancing relationships with customers and partners, and supporting EMC’s ongoing effort in accelerating our customers’ journey to the private cloud.
Each of the ANZ and SEA regions will continue to have its own management team under a common direction and executive leadership of David Webster.
Announcing this appointment, Steve Leonard, President, EMC Asia Pacific & Japan, said, “David's success in building a healthy long-term foundation of growth for EMC in ANZ, together with his experiences in Asia earlier in his career, makes him the ideal candidate to build upon the great portfolio of businesses we have today in South East Asia.”
Webster's impressive career spans over 20 years in the information technology industry across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. Webster was based in Singapore covering hardware, software and services in a previous leadership role for Silicon Graphics, covering Singapore and SEA. His track record of hiring and developing local talent, establishing distributor and partner channels in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia has given him solid working knowledge of these key growth areas vital for EMC's long-term success in Asia Pacific.
Based in Sydney, Webster will continue reporting directly to Steve Leonard, President, EMC Asia Pacific & Japan.
