Hafele Thailand Limited, a leading manufacturer of furniture fittings, architectural hardware and electronic locking systems, celebrated record high revenue of Bt2 billion in 2010. Positive upward trend is expected to continue this year with more focus on all market segments, from B2B to B2C.
Mr. Volker Hellstern, Managing Director of H?fele Thailand Limited, said, “2010 was another significant year for H?fele in Thailand as we were able to close the year with Bt2 billion revenue. This represented a significant 12% increase from the previous year. The impressive performance is a result of our strong brand recognition, recognized product quality, extensive distribution network that covers major markets nationwide, and most importantly our solution consultancy.”
Despite some political unrest in the first half of the year and oil price fluctuation that had some impact on overall economy, the real estate and construction businesses remained strong. New projects in 2010 hit 16-year record high with a total value of new project reaching almost Bt30 billion and thus boosting related industries, including furniture fitting and architectural hardware.
Majority of Hafele’s revenue in 2010 is generated by architectural hardware which accounted for 44% of its total sales revenue, followed by furniture fitting (31%) and Kitchen Fitting & Home appliance (14%).
“In addition to our outstanding product offering, Hafele’s ability to design customized solution for customers is a major success factor contributing to strong performance last year. Our design studios in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Hua Hin have helped our customers realize their dreams and solve problems related to furniture fitting and other systems that make their construction project completed. Our two distribution centers in Samut Prakarn and Surat Thani provinces also bring our products to customers in shorter time and with more convenience,” said Mr. Hellstern
Building on the strong performance, the company planned to make a faster and bigger move in 2011 with focus on business-to-business as well as retail and consumers markets.
“For 2011, we anticipate that this healthy business growth will continue. We target 20% growth from Bt2 billion last year. We hope to achieve Bt2.4 billion revenue at the end of this year as we believe that the property and realestate market will maintain its growth momentum with new projects being launched. At the same time, individual home owners are likely to go for home improvement or new home building projects. These provide good opportunity for us to grow.”
“Easy access to our products and services will be in focus in 2011. Our partnership and relationship with distributors will be enhanced through various campaigns. At the same time, we will send out our mobile units to bring our products to our customer’s home. In addition, we have opened a new distribution center in Bangna—Trat area where the city is expanding to. The completion of Phuket design center and showroom and renovation of Hua Hin showroom will also enable us to better serve our clients in big cities across the country.”
Mr. Hellstern concluded, “We are positive of 2011 thanks to strong property market and good economic growth signs. We plan to expand our business through expansion of product range i.e. Gorenje by H?fele, a leading Home appliance brand, stone resin bathtub sanitary product and other accessories. We will also focus our efforts in expanding logistics and distribution channels in order to deliver products to our customers more efficiently. In addition, we are the sole exclusive distributor of Kessebohmer, a leading brand of Kitchen Cabinet Hardware & Accessories of Germany. With these moves, we strongly believe that our target revenue of Bt2.4 billion this year will not be out of reach.”
