Bangkok--17 Feb--Integrated Communication CAT expresses great satisfaction as its revenue from international telephone service exceeds the target set for 2010, generating total revenue of 5,026 million baht. To maintain its ambitious vision to remain Thailand’s leading provider of international telephone service, the company has announced a bold investment plan to launch an advanced Next Generation Network, a telecom network that promises to take Thailand’s Internet-based and multimedia telephone calls to an unprecedented new height of possibilities. A range of proven CRM and marketing strategies have also been planned to contribute to steering the company to once again exceed expectations of the year 2011, while securing its market leadership for years to come. Miss Tanwadee Wongterarit, Senior Executive Vice President (Voice Business), CAT Telecom Plc., revealed that, “Our international telephonel service generated total revenue as high as 5,026 million baht in 2010, successfully eclipsing the anticipated target of 5,000 million baht. Despite fiercely intense competition, we still managed to retain our leading market share in this segment.” “With more and more new overseas call operators emerging into the market, the already severe competition has become even more intensified. Therefore, our impressive revenue success last year despite such fierce competition clearly indicates that customers are still confident in the superior quality of our international call service. CAT operates with Thailand’s most sophisticated and comprehensive overseas call network and we never cease our ongoing quest to innovate interesting new products and services that will cater to the demands of customers from virtually all customer groups, whether they be corporate clients or individual customers. This commitment to excellence was recently proven and honored when ‘CAT 001’ was awarded the ‘Service Excellence’ recognition in the SOE Award 2010.” Additional operators in the market directly translate to harsher competition. Also, the ever-evolving world of telecom technology has expanded both the choices and possibilities of overseas calls even further. As customers are offered more and more options, operators need to be able to come up with effective strategies and proactive measures to remain competitive — such as price-related promotions or development of a ‘niche market’ technique to attract affluent customers. “Well aware of the significantly increasing demands for Internet-based telephone calls, CAT is therefore investing as much as 300 million baht in developing the Next Generation Network (NGN) which will add a whole new world of possibilities to multimedia calling services and will appeal to customers in this ‘social media’ era. This new VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) service of ours will also be both dependable and cost-effective.”, added Miss Tanwadee. “This new service is slated for a launch in the third quarter of the year and is expected to offer users of Internet-based telephone calls, a host of new functions and possibilities such as VDO Mail Box, File Transfer to Mobile Phones, and, Multimedia Conferencens, regardless of your preferred Internet Provider. Moreover, in order to use this new service, corporate customers do not need to invest in any new IT system because they can enjoy our service through ‘Virtual’ or ‘Hosted’ system.”, said Miss Tanwadee. In addition, CAT will also continue to further develop its existing Internet-based telephone services including ‘CAT2call plus prepaid’, ‘CAT SIP-connect’ and ‘CAT hosted PBX’, so that these services respond better to the various demands of both corporate and individual customers. Miss Tanwadee further noted that, “Looking forward into 2011, CAT also has a number of marketing and promotional activities in the pipeline. For example, The ‘CAT009’ overseas call service now offers a special rate of only 3 baht per minute for calls to the following 9 destinations — the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Hawaii, Guam, Alaska and Midway/Wake. This special rate lasts from now until June 30th. Additionally, we are planning a range of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) activities for 2011 including social networking activity under the name ‘CAT voice’. Through this project, we will update our customers on interesting new technology, knowledge and news from around the world, plus it will provide a range of fun-filled games via social networking websites.” “CAT is more determined now than ever to continue to develop innovative products and quality services to satisfy our valued customers even further. That’s our way of expressing gratitude for their trust and support. Our aim is, undoubtedly, to retain our status as Thailand’s premier international telephone service provider with the leading market share for years to come.”, concluded Miss Tanwadee.
