Samitivej, a leading private hospital group in Thailand and Southeast Asia, announced the appointment of Dr. Somchai Chansawang as the Deputy CEO of Samitivej Plc. The appointment has clearly strengthened Samitivej’s commitment to medical excellence.

Dr. Somchai Chansawang is a renowned surgeon with vast experience in medical practice and management. Prior to this appointment, Dr.Somchai was the Director of Bangkok Hospital (Soi Soonvijai). He used to be the deputy Director of Bangkok Heart Hospital, Director of Bangkok Hat Yai Hospital and Rajyindee Hospital in Hat Yai. In addition to his experience in medical practice and management, Dr. Somchai has immense experience in teaching while he was teaching at the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkhla University, where he held the final position of Deputy Head of the department.
Dr. Somchai graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkhla University and attended an advanced training course on minimally invasive surgery in the US and Advanced Management Program (AMP 167) from Harvard Business School.
