Science rooted in nature
At the core of Pantene’s Nature Care, the Cassia Complex is derived from the nutritive tissue within the seeds of two species of the Cassia, Cassia obtusifolia and Cassia tora.
Taking inspiration from ayurvedic and traditional Chinese and Indian medicine, P&G Beauty scientists looked to the richness of nature to crack the code for a new generation of Pantene Pro-V products. They discovered the Cassia, an ancient botanical known for its medicinal benefits and prized for its detoxifying and purifying properties.
The power of Cassia unlocked
The discovery of the natural protective functions of the Cassia plant polymer inspired Pantene scientists to apply advanced technologies — rooted in over 60 years of scientific expertise and innovation — to heighten these protective qualities.
The result of this is the new Cassia Complex[2]. To harness the power of the Cassia, a scientific process was applied to change the unique molecular structure of the Cassia Complex. The surface charges of the molecule were altered to improve its adhesiveness to hair.
At the rinsing stage, it provides an invisible layer of natural protection on hair. In addition, the Cassia Complex itself works within the formula to deliver conditioning benefits, and facilitates the effective delivery of the Pro-V formula where hair needs help the most.
