Bangkok--24 Feb--ARC Worldwide P&G beauty & grooming kicks off its Beauty Debate for the first time in China at Beijing’s China World Tower - an iconic new landmark that soars far above the city of Beijing. Gathered at this event are global trend experts, ground breaking scientists and researchers and global fashion gurus. 500 media from across Asia were also immersed in a two day experience of the most forward looking beauty and fashion trends through 3 core events: The Beauty Debate, Facing Forever Gala Night and Asia Beauty Brands Experience. At The Beauty Debate, guests explored the possibility of extending current life spans as well as the ramifications of living longer. At the Facing Forever Gala Night, guests were given a preview of 2011 beauty and fashion trends via a dazzling fashion show created by world renowned beauty maestros. Guests were also taken on a deep dive into P&G beauty & grooming’s total beauty and grooming solutions at the Asia Beauty Brands Experience. Combined, these three core events demonstrate the leadership P&G beauty & grooming has in trends, science and innovation understanding; as well as insights into the global beauty industry. Facing Forever: Visionary Leadership The 2 day journey began with The Beauty Debate - a thought provoking session hosted by leading minds from P&G and external scientific experts on the topic of “Facing Forever”. Annually, P&G beauty & grooming partners with different creative disciplines and fashion experts to identify and predict leading socio-economic developments that would impact the future of the beauty industry. This year’s analysis revealed a society which desires a longer lifespan - hence the topic of facing forever that explores the implications of a longer life span. Through year’s global macro trend sensing of culture, arts, technology, architecture and other creative disciplines, P&G has summarized nine leading beauty and fashion trends for 2011. During The Beauty Debate, guests also explored cutting edge gene technology that would slow the aging process; and P&G’s long term pledge to sustainability. This debate reinforces P&G’s commitment to consumers in their unending quest for beauty. Facing Forever: Trend Inspiration Having painted a picture of what Facing Forever entails with science and technology, guests were then immersed in a dazzling world of inspiration, style and beauty at the Facing Forever Gala Night. The star studded event included four P&G beauty & grooming brand ambassadors — Pat McGrath, Chief Global Makeup artist for Max Factor; Sam McKnight Pantene Global Ambassador; Eugene Souleiman Wella Professional Global Creative Director; Care & Styling; and Josh Wood, Wella Professional Global Creative Director, Color. The gala event marked the first time in Asia where these four beauty maestros came together, combining inspirations from art, nature and technology, to interpret the five top 2011 beauty trends for the runway. With these four masters’ extraordinary talents and skills, models were transformed to interpret five trends of 2011 which are Cheerful Pulse, Dive-Tech, Glamazon, Loving Love and Mono Black. Their transformation was magical, and their styled presence guiding all guests to witness the unconfined creativity and talents of the four styling maestros, as well as the leading aesthetics of 2011 P&G Beauty & Grooming Face Forever: Product Innovation At the Asia Beauty Brands Experience, media explored the innovative world of P&G beauty & grooming brands. Showcased at this event were classic products and latest technologies from various P&G beauty & grooming brands, covering holistic solutions from head to toe, female to male and mass to professional and prestige. Chief Global Makeup artist for Max Factor Pat McGrath, Pantene Global Ambassador Sam McKnight, P&G beauty & grooming China Creative Director Zhang Renzhi, and Creative Director of Y3 and fashion icon Nicole Chen shared their beauty interpretation of 2011 trends using P&G beauty & grooming products. With these products, they shared their personal makeup and grooming tips.
