Thai journalist receives ‘Special Mention’ green-tech award from Siemens

Bangkok--1 Mar--Siemens Ten journalists from six ASEAN countries won Siemens’ first regional green technology journalism award, including Miss Sawitree Ra-gubpit (8th from left) from Engineering Today magazine, who was singled out for special mention for her article, Hospitals getting through a crisis with energy-saving measures. Over 190 entries published from 1 January to 31 December last year were received from print and online media from wide spectrum of media outlets from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, included Bangkok Post and the Nation from Thailand. Chosen by a distinguished and independent panel of judges from various industry sectors; i.e. academics, media and business professionals, as well as public official from the participating countries; includes Dr. Chachanat Thebtaranonth (far left), Senior Advisor, the Siam Cement Public Co., Ltd., the winners were recognized for their exemplary reporting on issues relating to energy efficiency, industrial productivity and sustainability. The results announcement and the award presentation ceremony were recently held in Singapore.
