ข่าวทั่วไป Monday March 14, 2011 11:14 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--14 Mar--Francom Asia On-Site Large-Scale Public Transportation Interchange Expected to Generate 10 Million Visitors per Year Megabangna - the first low-rise regional mall in South-East Asia — is poised to become a gigantic new transportation interchange in eastern Bangkok to enhance convenience of shoppers travelling to and from Megabangna via public transportation. Situated in a perfect location to serve both local shoppers as well as inbound and outbound tourists, on-site availability of commuter vans and public buses are expected to bring more than 10 million shoppers a year to the mall once it opens in early 2012. “We are developing a full-fledged transportation interchange within Megabangna,” said Mr. Nopporn Witoonchart, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Future Development Plc., and Managing Director of SF Development Co., Ltd. “This interchange will act as a large-scale terminal for public transportation systems and offer Megabangna shoppers absolute convenience in traveling to and from the mall.” At least 15 different commuter van routes will be based within Megabangna to provide a very convenient way to visit the mall for shoppers living within a 2-hour radius. “We expect to welcome over 10,000 visitors a day — or approximately 4 million a year — from commuter vans alone,” Mr. Nopporn explained. “Additionally, we will be looking to increase the number of available van routes even further after the opening of Megabangna next year.” Aside from commuter vans, Megabangna’s location is already serviced by many fixed city bus routes. SF Development is currently considering proposals to permit a number of additional bus routes from the surrounding areas to access the public transportation terminal facilities at Megabangna which will provide shoppers with even more commuting options. “We forecast that the Mega public transport interchange will generate up to 25% of Megabangna’s expected 110,000 visitors per day,” said Mr. Nopporn. Megabangna’s construction began in November 2010 and is now approximately 30% complete. Additionally, the superstructure of the IKEA store — which is due to open on November 3, 2011 before the rest of the complex— has already been completed. With 70% of the mall’s 400 leasable retail spaces already booked, Megabangna remains on track for a full-scale opening in early 2012. ?
