“As we celebrate our 125th anniversary along with the occasion of Bangkok International Motor Show, we want to showcase our decades of success from the beginning when Carl Benz invented the world’s first automobile and patented it on 29th January 1886. At the exhibition, we debut 6 new models along with the rare showcase of “Benz Patent Motor Car“ which is to be flanked by the new CLS-Class and the new SLK-Class — the two marvelous classes of our grandest innovations. The display of our history perfectly showcases our whole story and depict our bright future to come. Both of our latest innovations are packed with powerful yet efficient “BlueEFFICIENCY” engines that boast latest environmental friendly technology that saves as much as 25% fuel consumption.”
In this Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz showcases other automobile highlights including the CL 500 BlueEFFICIENCY with a V8 BlueDIRECT engine with 20% lower fuel consumption. We also unveil the latest model of our Vito van that is even more spacious and luxurious. Their excellent comfort makes it the best choice for both family and business, while our G-Class G 55 AMG displays our unrivalled 4 wheel drive, offroad technology,” adds Dr. Paufler.
The new SLK 350 BlueEFFICIENCY Roadster
The latest SLK 350 BlueEFFICIENCY is entering its third generation with all new face that accentuates its classic roadster emblem with strong retro influence of the SLS AMG gullwing supersport car. Its powerful V6 engine draws 225 kW (306 hp) at 6,500 rpm and 370 Nm at 3,500 rpm from its 3,498cc displacement, using this power to accelerate in 5.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h (top speed 250 km/h). The new SLK boasts the latest panoramic vario-roof with MAGIC SKY CONTROL that can adjust the light and darkness of the interior at one button.
The new CLS 350 BlueEFFICIENCY
The second-generation all-new CLS 350 refines the world of sports car with its all-new exterior and interior designs. Its front flaunts higher agility with the V-shaped bonnet and its elegant interplay of lines and dimensions represent dynamic beauty while its rear axle highlights the athletic character of the new CLS even further with LED High Performance lamps. The new CLS comes with a powerful V6, its 3,498cc displacement and engine of maximum 225 kW or 306 hp at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 370 Nm at 3,500-5,250 rpm that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds with a top speed 250 km/h. This new engine is 25% more energy-saving than the previous models.
The new generation CL-Class
The new generation CL-Class, the latest innovation of the CL-Class, is the ultimate high-end coupe. Meaty and powerful with a newly-designed V8 biturbo engine with 320 kW or 435 hp, the new CL 500 BlueEFFICIENCY covers more mileage at 9.5 litre/100 km. Distinctive with the newest BlueDIRECT technology, this engines saves 23% more and emits only 224g of CO2/1 km when compared to the 288 g/km CO2 emission of the previous models.
The new Vito
The new Vito is a luxurious automobile of multiple usages. Distinguished with a complete new look inside and out, the new Vito serves multiple purposes of a car. It’s 4-cylinder turbo diesel intercooler and comes with 2,148cc displacement. Its engine gives 110 kW or 150 hp at 3,800 rpm and maximum torque of 330 Nm at 1,800-2,400 rpm and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 12.7 seconds with maximum speed of 180 km/h. The van boasts an excellent mileage of 8.1 litre/100 km with highest safety standard of Mercedes-Benz.
The G 55 AMG, Tough for Extreme Offroad
This is the first time that Mercedes-Benz showcases its G-Class in Thailand. The G-Class is Mercedes-Benz’ series for offroad and sport utility vehicle, the toughest in line. And when Mercedes-AMG modifies the G 55 AMG, it gives the automobile even more power, but still under its classic look and V8, 5.5 litre supercharge engine gives a 373 kW or 507 hp at maximum torque of 700 Nm that accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds with maximum speed of 210 km/h with full safety standard features.
Apart from the aforementioned highlights, Mercedes-Benz also showcases the other 20 top automobile innovations under its “BlueEFFICIENCY”concept for a sustainable mobility. The lineup includes the CGI diesel and gasoline engines and the latest BlueDIRECT engine which is smaller, yet more powerful. And better of all, they are even friendlier for the environment because they reduce further the CO2 emission rates with lower fuel consumption.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class is renowned for delivering sporty and fun driving. This year’s showcases include:
