Rolls-Royce, a world-leading provider of gas turbines, power systems and services for use on land, at sea and in the air, announced the rollout of the 2,000th BR710 engine. The engine was manufactured at the company’s Dahlewitz plant, which is part of a long-term commitment to Germany that has seen Rolls-Royce invest a total of 1.5 billion Euro in the country.
Dr. Michael Haidinger, Managing Director and President Civil Small & Medium Engines, said: “The BR710 has seen global success with operators of business jets and has prevailed on the market owing to its reliability and efficiency. Aircraft equipped with this engine have set new performance records for range, speed and altitude. The success of the BR710 on the global market is attributable to the outstanding efforts of our engineers, assembly workforce and service team. They assure the success of the engine, today and in the future."
The BR710 is very versatile. With thrust ratings between 14,750 and 15,500 pounds, this engine has become the power plant of choice for Bombardier Global Express, Global Express XRS and Global 5000 as well as Gulfstream G500 and G550 business jets.
The BR710 engine is a member of the proven BR700 family, which also includes the BR715 and BR725 models. BR700 engines were the first engines manufactured in Germany to obtain international certification. More than 11 million hours in service attest to the success story of the BR700.
The BR710 was developed in Germany and is assembled at Dahlewitz. After certification in 1996, it made its first run in 1997. The BR710 excels at take-off and climb performance. This enables aircraft to reach the targeted cruising altitude very quickly, thereby conserving fuel and saving time.
The engine’s low noise and emissions levels are further hallmarks of distinction. They allow aircraft to frequent major international hubs as well as local airstrips worldwide.
The BR710 combines proven civil engine technologies with state-of-the-art materials, manufacturing excellence and aerodynamics. This ensures the engine satisfies the most stringent business and environmental requirements and operates cost-efficiently.
