KTC, Krungthep Turakij, and MasterCard jointly stage the 2nd Thailand Boutique Awards 2011 to help pitch small and medium sized boutique hotels to the consumers and to improve the tourism industry in terms of quality and creativity. This year’s program is open to hotels with 3 to 79 rooms with the desire to grow sustainably to enter and win as many as 75 prizes. Application is received on www.thailandboutiqueawards.com web site from June 1st.
Mr. Piyasak Tejasen, Senior Executive Vice President for Products and Distribution, KTC or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited said “The inaugural “Thailand Boutique Awards” program was very well received last year with more than 200 boutique hotels participating. The program is now known among a wider public and KTC has been consistently conducting activities to support it and to generate marketing opportunities for participating hotels. Reservation at these boutique hotels can be made online at www.ktcworld.co.th/boutiquehotel, for example, and they have had presence at the 8th Thai International Travel Fair as well to offer promotional packages. The 1st Thailand Boutique Awards Directory 2010 - 2011 was also published to help in this regard. Moreover the “Thailand Boutique Awards” program also won the “Most Innovative Card Marketing Program” prize from the MasterCard Hall of Fame Awards presentation took place in late 2010 at Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.”
“As for the second installment of “Thailand Boutique Awards” program in 2011, we will continue to render support for the hotels and help them develop their business and marketing. Mr. Vittvat Charoenpong, Architect and University Instructor - Faculty of Architecture, Rangsit University, said in his capacity as Vice Chairman of the Judging Panel “the “Thailand Boutique Awards 2011” program will have more prizes and more categories to make sure the program is better defined. Hotels with same properties can then compete more fully. For this year we will focus on boutique hotels with 3 to 79 rooms. The three hotel classes are Small, Deluxe and Luxurious boutique hotels. The four location classes are 1) Seaside 2) Mountain & Forest 3) River & Lake and, 4) City. We will offer Gold and Silver Plaques each for three prize categories as Architecture & Design, Nature & Environment, and, Thematic Idea & Culture. This brings the number of prizes to 72 with 3 additional Outstanding Awards for each class, making the total number of prizes 75.”

Their collective expertise and experience will ensure a fair judgment,” added Piyasak.
