Bangkok--10 Jun--Mazda Sales Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd. has announced its capability in delivering new models to customers without delays after the parent company gave the green light in providing full support in parts supply. With the parts disruption problem quickly solved, sales of Mazda vehicles also quickly recovered to the normal level. Sales in May surged to over 3,000 units for the fifth consecutive month, and Mazda was able to achieve a 6-per cent market share for the first time. A total of 35,524 Mazda2 subcompacts have been delivered to customers, after being officially launched just over a year ago. Mazda2 market share in May reaches 16% which is the highest share since launched. With the all-new Mazda3 also being introduced earlier this year, Mazda is confident that the company will be able to achieve its 38,500-unit sales target this year. Although the Japan quake and tsunami in March affected all Japanese car manufacturers, swift efforts in tackling the situation, as well as full cooperation and support from parent company Mazda Motor Corporations, helped Mazda to maintain continuous growth in the Thai market. Thanks to the strategic supply priority on Thailand, Mazda is able to maintain inventory in dealership as well as to continue new car delivery to customer. At the same time, the company had also been offering attractive retail campaigns on top as well as strongly advantages and freshness of its products, allowing them to gain quick market acceptance. Mr. Choichi Yuki, Managing Director of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said, “Today it is clear that the problems that took place previously have been resolved. Mazda is now ready to move ahead aggressively, whether in terms of expanding our sales network to cover the whole country, with 130 showrooms by the end of this year. We will also raise the service potential of our technicians and develop our sales personnel so that they abide by the promise that the customer always comes first. Meanwhile, Mazda plans to sell 38,500 vehicles in Thailand this year, equal to a 10-per cent growth compared to 2010. We also plan to introduce new models and special models right on schedule later this year -- this is another year that Mazda will fully penetrate the market and offer sporty and environmentally-friendly automobiles that are specially tailored for the customer and come with good value for money,” he said. Mr. Yuki said Mazda will start delivering the all-new Mazda3 2.0L to customers who placed orders at the recent Bangkok International Motor Show. “After the Motor Show, more orders were placed and now the total is 1,400 units, in which Mazda will completely deliver to early-bird customers who booked since the latest motor show no later than August. Meanwhile, immediately delivery applies to the two Mazda2 models as well,” he added. Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, Marketing Director, said, “In May, Mazda was able to maintain sales of over 3,000 units for the fifth consecutive month, with sales reaching 3,304 units. We were able to achieve a 6-per cent market share which is a positive sign. Sales have been growing steadily and the Mazda2 is still highly popular with sales of 2,180 units and a market share of 15.6 per cent. This is made up of 1,054 units of the sedan and 1,122 units of the 5-door hatchback. This is another golden year for the BT-50, with 67-per cent growth and sales of 709 units, equal to a 3-per cent market share. We also sold 417 units of the Mazda3 1.6L, which had a market share of 6.7 per cent, and one units each of the MX-5 and CX-9,” she said. In June, Mazda is offering a special sales promotion for customers who place orders for any model — free first-class insurance for 1 year (all-new Mazda3 2.0L included). Meanwhile, the Mazda3 1.6L comes with 3-year/60,000km free maintenance, low 1.79-per cent interest as well as 3-year 24-hour emergency service. For the Mazda2, both sedan and hatchback models come with insurance, 2.4-per cent interest and 3-year emergency service. The Mazda BT-50 sports pickup comes with insurance, low Bt49,000 down payment requirement, 1.99 per cent interest and 3-year emergency service. Trade-ins for new Mazda vehicles also gain additional Bt15,000 in value for previously-owned Mazda models or Bt10,000 for other brands. As for the CX-9 luxury crossover, customers will get free 3-year/100,000km maintenance, insurance and 3-year emergency service. For the MX-5, the promotion includes 5-year/140,000km warranty, 3-year/100,000km maintenance, insurance and 3-year emergency service. “From June onwards the market will grow more active due to the upcoming elections, and Mazda is planning to organize a nationwide marketing tour to reach penetrate new customer groups and create wider brand awareness. Customers will have a chance to get close to the all-new Mazda3 and experience the outstanding performance.
