Ms. Naruemol Art-amnuayvipas, Managing Director, Equity Derivatives Department, KGI Securities (Thailand) Plc., announced the launch of a new series of KGI DWs in June 2011.
KGI, the market leader in Thai DWs, has been authorized by the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) to issue 9 new DWs. The new DWs will begin trading from Jun 21st to 23rd, 2011.
The new DWs are BEC13CA / HMPR13CA / MINT13CA / TUF13CA which will begin trading on Jun 21st, 2011. Then KBAN13CD / PTTE13CD / PTTC13CC / PTTA13CB will begin trading on Jun 22nd, 2011. Lastly, IVL13PA will begin trading on Jun 23rd, 2011.
The DWs will be of special interest to DW investors; They include DWs on underlying shares which have never had DWs before, such as HMPR13CA and MINT13CA, and the first Put DW issued by KGI, namely IVL13PA.
Put DWs provide investors their opportunities to make money when the underlying share price falls. Thus Put DWs are suitable for investors who are bearish about the market outlook. Put DWs can also allow investors in the underlying shares to lock in profits whilst still holding the underlying shares.
Like other DWs, Put DWs have the advantage of low capital investment, potentially high returns, and limited loss.
With the domestic and international outlook increasingly uncertain, many investors expect the market to be volatile, and volatile markets increase the price movements of geared instruments such as DWs, both up and down. Other investors expect the market to plunge and thus seek downside protection.
