Bangkok--1 Jul--DC Consultants
Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd and International Promotion and Exhibition (IPEX) has kicked off Secutech Thailand 2011, the country’s first full-scale trade fair for security, fire management and safety which will run from June 30 to July 2 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). The fair is supported by many state and private organisations with the aim of raising Thailand’s security standards to the international level.
At Secutech Thailand, 110 leading companies from 17 countries will unveil their products and latest innovations, and there are also conferences and seminars on 25 related topics. The fair is expected to receive more than 5,000 visitors and contribute to growth in the country’s security industry by 30 per cent this year.
Addressing the opening ceremony was Mr. Nakorn Silpa-Archa, Deputy Permanent-Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, who said that the Secutech fair has been organised for the first time in Thailand this year as all parts of society became aware of the importance of the security industry development. The ministry agreed to be one of the major supporters as the fair is in accordance with its mission of ensuring the welfare and safety of all employees and workers, a large group of people who are essential to driving the economy.
The fact that about 200,000 people were injured or died from work related injuries in Thailand every year has urged the Ministry of Labour to apply measures and programmes to promote labour safety. Its continuing effort has brought an extent of success, as the number of casualties and injuries has dropped below 150,000 in the past few years. The ministry is still committed to continuing its mission with the emphasis on the ‘preventive strategy’, of which the most important is to build up safety awareness among business operators and relevant personnel, and Secutech Thailand 2011 precisely answers to this requirement.
Mr. Parson Lee, the Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media, said that Thailand was one of Asean’s largest markets for security, fire and safety products and services. The Thai security industry has begun to recover since the last quarter of 2010 and it is expected to see rising demand and a promising growth this year, driven by the economic growth, public and private project investments, new safety regulations in compliance with international standards, as well as the people’s growing awareness about safety both in residential and public areas.
Secutech Thailand 2011 is a major platform for professionals in the security industry to present the latest products and technologies, acquire useful data, learn more about market needs, as well as to discover quality partners and business opportunities. With 110 leading companies and renowned brands from 17 countries now showing their security innovations and solutions, the exhibition space of 5,000 square metres is expected to receive more than 5,000 visitors from around the globe, while also contributing to the 30-per-cent growth forecast for the security industry in 2011.
“This fair will provide all relevant products, services and activities to promote the security industry and enhance the ability of the people in related businesses. In addition to extending the Thai security market and raising Thailand’s security standards to the international level, Secutech Thailand 2001 will help improve life safety for the Thai people,” Mr. Lee said.
This fair is also host to informative programmes led by renowned experts in the security industry. The programmes include the Asian Professional Security Association (APSA) Thailand Conference, the Fire and Safety Seminar, the first Global Digital Surveillance Forum (GDSF) in Thailand, and Product Presentation that welcomes participants to learn more about new products and innovative solutions from top manufacturers.
Government supporters for Secutech Thailand 2011 include the Bangkok Fire and Rescue Department by Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labour, Royal Thai Police and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).
