Siam Commercial Bank PCL (SCB) and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) are organizing a fourth “SCB-FTI Factory Outlet Fair” to boost Thai manufacturers' sales by offering quality products from over 140 brands, with discounts of up to 70%.
At the opening ceremony of the fair, SCB President Kannikar Chalitaporn remarked, “The fourth SCB-FTI Factory Outlet Fair is a result of cooperation between SCB and FTI to support Thai manufacturers' strong growth by boosting their sales and inventory management. This is a direct-to-consumer fair where consumers can find quality products and good deals from leading brands. SCB and FTI plan to continue holding similar fairs every year. Last year, the fair successfully generated sales of 12 million baht for participating manufacturers, and we project sales of more than 20 million baht for this fourth fair alone.”
FTI Chairman Payungsak Chatsuthipol noted that, “The growth of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) is an important mechanism in driving the Thai economy to strong growth, no less than corporate firms. Nowadays, businesses and industries are affected by rapid changes in economic, social, cultural conditions, technology, and innovations. SME operators therefore need to be equipped with information and funds for product development and fundamentals for business operations. Meanwhile, they have to look for new markets and build their brands for wider recognition. Realizing the importance of these issues, FTI and SCB have organized SCB SME - FTI Factory Outlet fairs for four consecutive years to help operators save inventory costs and boost their liquidity. We offer an alternative distribution channel to boost their domestic sales. Participating SMEs at the fairs are a mix of FTI members and SCB SME clients nationwide."
“The SCB SME - FTI Factory Outlet fair is an example of FTI and SCB collaborative activities. In the past three years, we have received a warm response from SMEs joining the fair as well as consumers,” added Payungsak.
The fourth SCB-FTI Factory Outlet Fair offers a wide range of products, including clothing, accessories, handicrafts, leather, home decorations, and furniture, with discounts of up to 70%. It will run from 4-8 July 2011, 9.00 am — 6.00 pm at Mahisorn Hall, SCB Head Office.
