Thailand Knowledge Park (TK Park) has cooperated with Acer Computer to extend knowledge and narrow digital gap with the innovative mobile solutions by transferring most TK Park’s digital contents and e-books in the Acer ICONIA Tab A500, allowing TK Park members to access for free. Moreover training on tablet PCs will be delivered to members, enabling them to learn how to use information technology creatively.
Dr. Tassanai Wongpiseskul, Deputy Director of The Office of Knowledge Management and Development and Director of TK Park, said: “It’s one of TK Park’s objectives to promote reading habit, pursuit of knowledge and lifelong learning through a wide range of media including books. Our partnership with Acer will help upgrade our service levels and enable readers to access useful contents much easier than ever. This indirectly contributes to the building of a learning society among Thai people.”
“Today in Thailand, advanced technology including digital contents, animations and multimedia is significantly proliferating. We are excited to delivering digital contents through Acer’s high-performing IT devices. This will be a good channel for knowledge development. Members can easily access TK Park’s contents through our applications on the Acer ICONIA Tab A500. Six categories of contents delivered through this channel include: creative games, local stories from three regions, story-telling from objects, King Rama IX music library, TK Music Library and rare books under ‘Treasures of the Kingdom’. Interested members can try these applications or view useful contents from August 4, 2011 onwards. Three machines will be available for services at Mind Room, TK Park, 8th Floor,” Dr. Tassanai added.

Furthermore, Acer is collaborating with TK Park to deliver training on mobility devices or tablets during weekends, allowing family members to spend time together on tactical and thoughtful activities. Technical training to TK Park staff and facilitate training to general public will be provided by Acer. 3 sets of Acer ICONIA Tab A500 from Acer are donated to TK Park for using as access devices for digital contents and training. We hope that this partnership will be complement to ‘living library’ at TK Park,” Mr. Nitipat concluded.
