Bangkok--8 Jul--Alliance Francaise de Bangkok
Alliance Francaise de Bangkok is proud to present the photographic essay exhibition of the classic epic “Ramakien” by French photographer Jean-Marie Sauveplane from July 21 to August 21, 2011 (closed on Monday) at Alliance Francaise’s media library. Admission is free of charge.
Jean-Marie Sauveplane, a French expatriate living in Thailand since 2003, is passionate about photography. Whether dance or sport, for him body movements are art, which is what he aims at conveying in photos. Sauveplane has found in the Ramakien performed in Thai classical dance a perfect opportunity to express his passion. In his photos, body movements are all the more beautiful because of the shimmering costumes, and each image is so vibrant that one expects characters from this Thai classic to come to life at any time. To help the public better enjoy the exhibition, photos will be accompanied by short texts explaining the tale and characters written by well-known novelist Jean Marcel.
