Boots Thailand, the Thai business of leading international pharmacy-led health and beauty group Alliance Boots, announces today the appointment of Dean Thompson as its new Managing Director.
Dean, who is originally from the UK, will join Boots Thailand on 18 July 2011. As an experienced senior manager, Dean has been working across Thailand and the Middle East since 1999, working with major retailers such as Courts, B2S, Al Futtaim Group, A.S. Watsons and J. Sainsbury PLC.
The new appointment has been made following the sad passing of Paul Millar, who had been Managing Director at Boots Thailand since May 2010. Paul was instrumental in continuing to build the Thai business following the political unrest early last year.
“Paul made a significant contribution to growing the Boots branded retail network in Thailand, and in expanding the store portfolio, as well as leading successful CSR projects to help local causes,” said Ornella Barra, Chief Executive, Pharmaceutical Wholesale Division, Alliance Boots.
She added: “We are pleased to welcome Dean to the business. His focus will be to continue the expansion plans for the Thai business, and to continue to build customer awareness of the Boots Health & Beauty brands.”
