Thai bourse supports youth financial literacy contest

Bangkok--25 Jul--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will again sponsor an annual contest to help establish prudent financial habits among youth to become judicious adults. The contest will promote age-appropriate knowledge of economics, personal finance and the sufficiency economy philosophy targeting at students in primary and secondary levels in Thailand, as one of the SET’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects. This third annual contest “The Diamond Crown in Economics Nern-Thong-Khong-Mee-Ka and Sufficiency Economy Philosophy 2011” will be on September 24-25. Other sponsors are The Capital Market Development Fund Foundation, CPF Trading Co., Ltd., The Crown Property Bureau, Nongpho Dairy Co-operative Ltd., Office of the Basic Education Commission, Romchatra Foundation, Satree Wittaya school II, and Thai Life Assurance Association. “The contest will help youth realize the importance of economics, personal finance management and the sufficiency economy philosophy. A major driving force behind this year’s contest will be to celebrate His Majesty the King’s 84th birthday and the prizes will be much more than past years,” noted SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira. SET realizes the importance of CSR and has incorporated social responsibility as a major part of its vision. This contest emphasizes one of its missions, which is to build a foundation of expertise about savings and personal finance among youth.
