The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association (PReMA), reaches out to Thai nationals to provide accurate and useful health information to combat and prevent diseases through radio channel 100 FM titled “Lum Yuk Rueng Sukaparb.
PReMA cares about the community and would like to see Thais remain healthy and receive the proper healthcare needed for each and every concern. After an extensive survey during the summer and rainy season in Thailand, PReMA has found that the top three concerns among Thais are; Foot diseases related to “Tinea Pedis”, Infections and transmitted diseases via mosquitoes which could be prevented by vaccination, and Heart diseases such as Hypertension and Diabetes. With the intention to help educate the public, they have received constant input and support from medical experts, national health organizations, government agencies and the Thai media in order to be able to share these crucial tips and find preventions.
PReMA has created and promoted another channel of communication to reach the public with radio broadcast programs, under radio channel 100 FM titled “Lum Yuk Rueng Sukaparb” aired since 2009, every Saturdays at 14:15 pm — 14:30pm. Additionally, every 3rd Saturday of the month is dedicated to providing knowledge on appropriate drug usage , while the last Saturday of the month provides the survivors or health volunteers to share their valuable experiences. The next episodes this month will feature an infection of the brain “Japanese Encephalitis” or in short JE, which is found in Asian countries and transmitted through mosquito bites, however this could be prevented by vaccination and the following topic will cover skin diseases advised by experts from the Institute of Dermatology.
Evidently, PReMA is committed to organizing programs and activities dedicated to promoting the health and quality of life of all Thai people through these diverse communication channels.
