Recently, Dr. Atchaka Sriboonrueng Brimble, Secretary General of Board of Investment (BOI) and the team visited Sahaviriya Steel Teesside Plant of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited or SSI, at Redcar, England, where they were welcomed by the management of SSI and SSI UK. This plant is an integrated iron and steel making facility with the second largest blast furnace in Europe and has capacity to produce 3.5 million tons a year of slab. SSI has spread its up-stream steel production base, and become the largest steel producer in ASEAN through acquiring this world class value-added plant.
